(01)About calcite

Calcite CaCO₃

Calcite is one of the most common naturally occurring carbonate minerals and is primarily composed of calcium carbonate (CaCO₃).

Its combination of chemical stability, whiteness, relatively low hardness and versatility makes calcite an important industrial mineral.

Processed calcite can be supplied in different forms and particle sizes depending on the requirements of the end-use industry.

(02)Industrial applications

Wherecalciteisused

Paints & Coatings

Calcite is widely used as a mineral filler and extender in paints and coatings. It can contribute to opacity, brightness, texture and formulation economics.

Plastics & PVC

Calcite can be incorporated into plastics and polymer formulations as a mineral filler, supporting dimensional stability and formulation efficiency.

Paper

Calcium carbonate-based minerals are used in paper manufacture as fillers and coating materials, where they can contribute to brightness, smoothness and print performance.

Ceramics

Calcite can serve as a source of calcium in ceramic formulations and can act as a fluxing component during firing.

Glass

Calcium-bearing minerals are used in glass formulations as a source of calcium oxide, contributing to the properties and stability of finished glass.

Construction

Calcite and calcium carbonate materials have applications across cement, concrete, wall putty, mortars, flooring and related construction products.

Rubber & Adhesives

Mineral fillers can be incorporated into rubber, adhesives and sealant formulations to modify physical properties and improve formulation economics.
